The CMA CGM Marco Polo is a container ship registered in the United Kingdom belonging to the Explorer class owned by the CMA CGM Group. On November 6, 2012, it became the world’s largest container ship by capacity (16,020 TEU), but was surpassed by the CMA CGM Marco Polo Triple E (18,270 TEU) on February 24, 2013.

Previously, the largest ship was the Emma Mærsk and her seven sisters of the Mærsk E class (15,500 TEU). Its capacity is 10,000 TEU if all containers weighing 14 tons are fully loaded, compared to 11,000 for Emma Mærsk and even more for the Triple E Class.
