Constructed in the mid-1910s for the United States Navy, USS Arizona was a battleship. She bore the name of the 48th state and belonged to the Pennsylvania class, being the final vessel of its kind. Upon entering service in 1916, Arizona stayed within the nation’s borders throughout World War I, except for the task of escorting President Woodrow Wilson to the Paris Peace Conference that followed. In 1919, the ship ventured overseas once more to safeguard American interests during the Greco-Turkish War. Following this, she was reassigned to the Pacific Fleet in 1921, where she would serve for the duration of her active duty
