The Marie Clarisse is a famous wooden sailboat, built in 1923 by James H. Harding in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Originally named the Archie F. Mackenzie, the boat was used to transport goods between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland from 1942.
In 1974, the boat began operating on the St. Lawrence River and sank in the Port of Quebec in 1976. After seven months underwater, the boat was salvaged and taken to the Isle-aux-Coudres shipyard in Charlevoix for restoration in 1977. It was then renamed Marie Clarisse and used for various purposes, including as a cruise ship on the Saguenay Fjord and as a training vessel.
Since 2015, Marie Clarisse has been housed at the Charlevoix Maritime Museum.
