Product information TCD Orage WarShip Model :

The Ouragan class (known as Hurricane in English) comprised French landing platform docks utilized by the Marine Nationale. These vessels, termed Transport de chalands de débarquement (TCD) in French, represented France’s inaugural series of such docks. Beginning service in the late 1960s, both ships operated in the Pacific Ocean as part of France’s nuclear program.

Originally slated for replacement by the Foudre-class in the 1990s, delays prolonged their service until the Mistral-class amphibious assault ships succeeded them in the 2000s. Plans for sale to Argentina were abandoned due to asbestos concerns. Decommissioned in 2007, both vessels were dismantled in Belgium in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
